Amazon Kindle-2 reader $60 lesser @ $299 - Will it kindle consumers?

Amazon today reduced price of its popular kindle 2 reader by $60 to bring it under $300 mark. Kindle, revolutionary e-book reader that seamlessly allows users to download contents from web without additional fee and is ideal for use with Textbooks and Newspapers. Second generation of Kindle device, Kindle 2 was released on Feb 9 2009 at a price tag of $359.

Now that “back to school” is upon us & considering the current state of consumers, Amazon might have knocked off $60 to make it more attractive.

Is it a move to “kindle” consumers? We will know shortly, Amazon reports its second quarter results on 07/23/2009.
