$3.44 trillion budget approved

Congress approved a $3.4 trillion budget for fiscal year 2010. Most of President Obama’s key spending priorities and setting the federal government in a new direction with major increases for energy, education and health care programs. were approved.  The plan also fails to approve a renewal of Obama’s $400 tax cut for most workers after it expires next year.

17 House Democrats supported it, and no House Republicans voted in favor.
