S&P “opens” up to RedHat - RedHat (RHT) replaces CIT in S&P 500 index.
Raleigh , NC based ; NYSE Listed Redhat (RHT) , provider of open source software solutions to enterprises and largely associated with it’s Red Hat Linux Operating system is included to prestigious S&P 500 index after the market close on Friday. RedHat is replacing financially beleaguered CIT Group that provides commercial financing and leasing products, and management advisory services to the small and middle market companies worldwide.
Does today’s announcement from S&P to include open source software provider to S&P500, is it an endorsement of ”open” software & “open” future ahead ? Sometime ago, Redhat released commercial under the tag line “Truth Happens” and it quotes following lines from Gandhi.
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they attack you, then you win. - Gandhi
