Yahoo SearchPad - Researcher’s tool.
Yahoo , one of the leading internet service provider, whose main services include Web Portal & Search engine , today expected to unveil new feature to its search engine called “Search Pad”. From yahoo’s website “Search Pad is a note-taking application that automatically tracks and organizes sites you find on Yahoo! Search to help you complete important tasks such as buying a car or planning a trip.”
Search Pad can be viewed as a sophisticated online version of “NotePad” application integrated into your web browser that gets active when you search on Yahoo.
This can be really useful for anybody who is set out to “research” on a specific topic and need to keep “note” of their search findings, references & their own interpretation of them into a lookup for further recollection & review. For instance, it will be handy for students/researchers who want to keep track of all their research on a particular subject.
You can email these “notes” later and really compelling when your research goes on for days or you do it from multiple locations (home computer, office).
Though Google already has a online “Document” application, its not well integrated and doesn’t fit the use case of a “research” bin. Yahoo is taking its baby steps toward differentiating itself from competition, hopefully users find it useful.
