Walmart opens first shop in India
India’s Bharti group and Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, opened their first cash-and-carry joint venture store at Amristar Saturday on an investment of $7 million.
The stores will be run under the brand name of Best Price Modern Wholesale.
They plan to open at least 15 outlets across the country in the next three years.
This store will create nearly 800 jobs.
Best price modern wholesale will sell nearly 6000 itmes including food and non food items.
Next stores will be opened at Madyapradesh, Punjab, Haryana.
